Union Ascent Ltd
Privacy Notice
Last updated 12 September 2026
1. Who we are
Union Ascent Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates Married to an Entrepreneur. For the personal data described in this notice, we are the data controller — we decide how and why your data is processed. You can reach us at hello@unionascent.com.
2. What we collect
- Account data — your email address, used to send your magic sign-in link and to match your purchase to your account.
- Workbook content — the reflections, journal entries, check-in ratings, goals, and other answers you choose to write in the workbook. This is your private content; we store it so it syncs across your devices.
- Support messages — if you contact us, we keep the correspondence so we can help you.
- Technical data — basic device and browser information and IP address, used for security and to keep the service running.
Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are collected and processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record — we never see or store your card details.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To provide the Service — creating your account, saving and syncing your workbook entries (performance of our contract with you).
- Security and fraud prevention — protecting your account and our systems (legitimate interests).
- Customer support — responding when you contact us (legitimate interests).
- Legal obligations — keeping records required for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your workbook content for advertising or share it with anyone for marketing.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers — hosting and infrastructure providers who store and serve the application and your data on our behalf, under contract.
- Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for the sale of the product, payments, invoicing and tax compliance. Paddle processes your purchase data under its own privacy terms.
- Professional advisers — accountants or legal advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are required to by law.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect your data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and workbook content for as long as your account is active. You can erase your workbook data at any time from Settings, or email us to delete your account entirely. Purchase and transaction records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@unionascent.com — we respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest and strict access controls. Your workbook content is only accessible to your signed-in account.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies and browser storage — to keep you signed in and to save your workbook locally on your device. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so there are no optional cookie preferences to manage.
10. Changes
If we update this notice, we'll post the new version here with a fresh "last updated" date. Material changes will be flagged to you by email.
